Every morning, ask yourself, “Am I living the life I aspire to or the one I’ve settle on for now?”
There is no right or wrong answer to the question and you answer may vary from day to day. Some days you may need to be living where you’ve “settled” and other days you’ll be juiced up ad ready to rock the life you aspire to.
The point of the question isn’t to make yourself feel guilty (there are plenty of people around you who can do that for you), or for you to “prove” to yourself all the ways you’re screwing up. The point is to honestly acknowledge to yourself exactly where you are today. Once you’ve done that, you can make the choice to continue your day as planned or think about what you would like to change your current plans.
Small changes, even just in attitude can make a big difference. If your answer is, “the one I’ve settled for right now”, chances are you may feel frustrated by that answer. It may feel like you’ve given up on your dreams or you’re powerless to change your current circumstances. Most likely, that is far from the truth. There are times when we need to take care of pressing matters and there simply isn’t time to do anything else. There are also times when we need to rest, to coast a bit while we’re gathering strength and resources to take the next steps towards our dreams. Give yourself credit for what you’ve accomplished so far and prepare to move forward.
If your answer is, “The life I aspire to”, YAY for you! Take a moment to acknowledge all th Blessings ou’ve encountered, all the little synchonisisities that have played a part in your journey. Acknowledge and appreciate all the people who have helped you on your journey. Acknowledge and Bless the obstacles that you’ve overcome and the lessons you’ve learned from them.
Life is seldom all smooth sailing, it’s seldom all forward progress. We all have times when we’re active and fully engaged and times when we sit back and just relax. Do yourself a favor and bring awareness to your day. Simply acknowledge where you are today and be at peace with that reality.
